The British Brown Bess was used by both American and British forces.

The Charleville musket was smuggled into America by French privateers. This musket was first used by American forces at the Battle of Brandywine on September 11, 1777.

The HMS Augusta ran aground and was engaged by the Pennsylvania Navy on October 23rd. One day after the Hessian loss at Red Bank. She caught fire and exploded burning her to the waterline.

The HMS Merlin also ran aground on October 23rd. Rather than let the ship fall into enemy hands the British Navy set her afire.
